Bishop Laurie’s Visit

Bishop’s visit, celebration and Project launch Sunday 18th July

We are delighted that Bishop Laurie Green (Bishop of Bradwell) will be presiding and preaching at St Mary’s and St John’s morning services on Sunday 18th July. We will be taking this opportunity to officially launch the building works for the extension to St John’s. We also hope to celebrate the completion of the lighting project at St Marys. We plan to bury a time capsule during the service at St. Johns and to follow on with tea/coffee & cakes and informal praise and worship led by our music group. We hope you will be able to join us!

Reports from recent events

Christian Aid collection

May I say a big thank you to all those who went out collecting for Christian Aid week and to all who made contributions. We have now paid into the Christian Aid account £1,664.55. We also had a lot of people Gift Aiding their donations, which adds substantially to their contribution.

Can I echo Joseph Maina a community activist in Kiambu, a slum area in Nairobi, where Christian Aid partners built sanitation blocks and have used the income generated to start to buy a plot outside Nairobi to move to and begin new lives there? Joseph says “I would like to thank people in the UK for their generous support. Without it we would not have been able to achieve this dream for ourselves.” Well done everyone and thank you.
