Homeless appeal from St Martins church Basildon
With the colder weather upon us, St. Martins church, in the centre of Basildon, are in touch with a number of homeless men who urgently need blankets, sleeping bags, tents, and warm clothes. Please have a turnout at home of any items that you are no longer using, and bring to St Martin’s, in the church foyer Monday to Friday 9 am-11 am.

The “Footsteps through Laindon” festival is over the weekend of 13th and 14th September at St Nicholas Church. The festival aims to celebrate the rich heritage of Laindon, not just in the past but also in the diversity of talents and activities that are here in the present. There will be all kinds of demonstrations and activities as well as stalls (even a throw a wet sponge at the vicar!) so there should be something for everyone – a real family occasion. The Festival will be opened by the Bishop of Bradwell, Rt Revd Laurie Green, and the weekend will finish with a “Songs of Praise” style service at 5.00 p.m. when we will be able to raise the roof, singing your favourite hymns.
