URGENT NEED for Pastoral Care Volunteers at Basildon Hospital
Volunteers spend perhaps two hours a week, visiting a couple of wards, to speak to those staying in the hospital. The qualities required are to listen and show compassion for possibly very frightened people, offering to pray for them if they wish. This contact must not be used to preach or in any way to promote the gospel. After the training and the usual Criminal Records Bureau check you would receive ongoing support from the Chaplains and other volunteers.
Call the Chaplain (William Ruddle) on 0845 155 3111 x4281 (or leave message) if interested in joining the ten week training course commencing on 20 April (7-9 pm).
