Rendezvous Ploughmans Lunch

Wow what a feast! The Rendevous Ploughman’s Lunch on Saturday 25th April was another resounding success, thanks to Liz Bob Sue John Carole Pat Michael H and Sally-Anne

Bob hot footing it to Tesco first thing Saturday morning for fresh bread, and salad meant 39 of us sat down to, in the words of some of the more inventive menus!

Hand cut, crusty French bread

Chunky mature English Cheddar cheese

Freshly carved ham with a delicious crumb coating

Plus accompaniments of various pickles, crisp coleslaw & seasonal salads!

And for those who still had room

Home made apple crumble (with or without cinnamon) and custard

Once the important job of eating was over we were invited to play table tennis, archery or beetle drive, which was much enjoyed by many. As I left Jean and Tony were energetically enjoying table tennis and Kelly looked at home with a bow in her hand!

Many thanks to all involved with The Ploughman’s lunch. The chance to enjoy a chat and a superb lunch amongst friends is a true pleasure and hopefully one to be repeated.

We all missed Julian today, but hope he enjoyed his 50th celebrations  – a very Happy Birthday on Tuesday Julian.
